Giants in the Sky: IMPORTANT INFO

This information is for ALL pupils involved in Giants in the Sky.

First rehearsal will take place for Grades 4 upwards on WEDNESDAY 30 JUNE at Isithatha Theatre, 12, 9th Avenue, Walmer from 6.15 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. This includes all those who DID NOT AUDITION. We need ALL GRADE 4's upwards to be present for final casting.

Our next official rehearsal will be on SATURDAY 2 AUGUST in the afternoon. We will be sorting out different time slots and these will be published in the next day or two. Please keep checking the website for updates. Heidi Brown, our Production Assistant will be setting up Whatsap groups for quick communication, but until this time, the website "Latest News" will be our way of communication. All newsletters and information are sent via the website too.

SINGING AUDITIONS: These are for those pupils who have already attended the acting auditions. This is the timetable for tomorrow's singing audition.

To confirm: Each pupil is to prepare a short song of their choice (as stated in previous information) that they will perform in a private audition with Musical Director, Mark Phelps. They may bring along a backing track, but this is not necessary.

We have been so impressed by the wonderful energy and talent displayed at our acting auditions as well as our first dance rehearsal. You can be very proud of your children!

It will be all systems go from now on and the rehearsal schedule that will follow after this week will enable you to plan ahead, as we like to give you a few weeks of the rehearsal schedule at a time.

For first time performers, it is important to note that missing rehearsals does impact heavily on the progress of the team and we need full commitment from everyone. However, if you are very ill, it is not advised to attend rehearsals. Please bring along a water bottle, dress comfortably, hair must be tied up, don't wear fancy jewellery, shoes need to be appropriate to dance in e.g tackies, dance shoes... We are at rehearsals to work. When we have a short rehearsal e.g. one hour, it is not necessary to bring snacks. We only have short water and bathroom breaks in the one hour sessions.

We ask that everyone treat the theatre space respectfully which means no driving over the grass, allowing younger siblings to run all around during rehearsals etc.. It will be easier for everyone to park outside when collecting as it causes traffic congestion otherwise. If you are waiting and need to park inside, that is a different story. We thank you in advance for your cooperation in this regard and look forward to an exciting production.
