We hope you are all enjoying the last week of the winter break! We get back to the studio next week on Tuesday 22 July, with all classes recommencing at the usual slots.
We have received participation forms from most of our pupils, but if you have not already filled out a form, please download the form (to be found under latest news) and email it once completed to gavin.rother@gmail.com as soon as possible. We will be casting next week. Here are the details.
No auditions on TUESDAY 22nd JULY as previously stated as we feel that we need to give everyone time to get back into the swing of things.
Acting auditions will be held on WEDNESDAY 23rd JULY at Isithatha Theatre, 12 9th Avenue, Walmer. This will form the first part of our casting process. ALL PUPILS will be cast in the production, but some have indicated that they do not wish to audition. They will be cast in the ensemble. They will not have to attend this audition, but please make sure that we have their participation form. Times for this audition are as follows:
Grades 4 - 5 : 6.00 - 7.30 p.m.
Grades 6 - 12 7.30 - 8.30 p.m.
Please prepare a poem or a monologue (30 seconds to 1 minute long). This does not have to
be memorised.
DANCE SESSION: This is not an audition, but an opportunity for our choreographer, Abi Ranwell, to sort out dance groups. ALL PUPILS who have enrolled to be a part of the cast need to attend one of the two sessions as listed below.
SATURDAY 26th JULY at Isithatha Theatre
2.00 - 3.00 p.m. Pre-school, Grades 1, 2 and 3.
3.15 - 4.15 p.m. Grade 4 - Grade 12
MONDAY 28th JULY at Isithatha Theatre : VOCAL AUDITIONS with Musical Director, Mark Phelps
Grades 4 upwards only. We will work out appointment slots. The auditions will be held between 6.30 and 8.30 p.m. We will publish a timetable for these auditions next week, once we have all forms in.
The production team will sort out the casting on Tuesday 29th July . Sharon and Linda will meet with the casts on
WEDNESDAY 30th JULY at Isithatha Theatre: 6.30 - 8.30 p.m. for a read through of the script.
Our rehearsal schedule is currently being drawn up and we will post it as soon as possible.
We look forward to a fun production!
