Giants in the Sky Auditions

Auditions for "Giants in the Sky" will take place on Tuesday 22 July (first day of Term 3), at Isithatha Theatre, 12, 9th Avenue, Walmer.

Rehearsals will commence on Saturday 26th July. We will be uploading an audition form to be returned by the end of June, as well as more information, in the next week.

Grades 1 - 3 need not audition, but will automatically be cast in the production should they wish to take part.

Please note that regular drama classes continue throughout the production rehearsal period and rehearsals take place after hours. Rehearsals average 2 to 3 x per week and rehearsal duration is usually two hours. However, younger cast members are usually called for shorter periods of time. We will probably have two teams of performers, but this will depend upon the numbers who choose to participate.

Most of our rehearsals will take place at Isithatha Theatre, 12, 9th Avenue, Walmer.

Grades 4 upwards, will need to audition, unless they do not want to be cast in a main role. In this case, they are welcome to just submit a form and be cast in the ensemble.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Prepare a short poem or monologue

• Prepare a short song

• You may bring along a backing track for accompaniment

• Please wear comfortable clothing for movement

A participation fee of R450 is payable to take part in the production. This assists us in mounting the production, paying for royalties, costumes, lighting, sound, theatre and rehearsal venue hire and other production costs. Please note that these fees need to be paid up front and no one will be cast unless studio fees are up to date and production fees are paid.

The production will take place from 30 September to 4 October. (Please note that schools close on 3 October so the show goes into the first weekend of the school holidays)
